EC4 Water Conditioning System

The EC4 uses a smart microprocessor to continually monitor household water consumption and determine when regeneration is needed. Its interactive display provides easy-to-understand operating information and access to settings that can be customized for the household.

Water flows through a bed of ion-exchange resin, where calcium and magnesium hardness minerals are captured. The conditioned water then travels back into the home’s plumbing system.

The EC4 monitors household water usage and automatically determines when regeneration is necessary. During regeneration, a salt solution removes the captured hardness minerals from the resin so they can be flushed from the system.

The EC4 calculates the appropriate amount of salt and water required for the regeneration cycle based on the needs of the system.

The EC4 provides many of the everyday advantages associated with softened water, including less scale buildup, improved soap and shampoo performance, easier cleaning and added protection for plumbing fixtures and water-using appliances.

Because regeneration is based on actual household usage rather than simply occurring on a fixed schedule, the EC4 is designed to make more efficient use of water and salt.
